Exhibition Information

			Space Willing & Dilling will host Park Ji-hye's personal exhibition <Nobody There> from April 10 to May 1, 2019. The author Park Ji-hye has been working on visualizing various types of conflicts that occur in various situations within a device that limits time and space. This exhibition focuses on the psychological landscape between the groups and individuals that make up society further in personal relationships through a new work that pays attention to the sewage end treatment plant located in Gumi-dong, Bundang-gu.

A sewage end-of-life treatment plant is literally the last part of a sewage treatment system, where various sewage is gathered for final treatment. The sewage terminating plant in Gumi-dong, Bundang-gu is already a forgotten space for many. This is because it is the site where the Korea Land Corp. started construction in 1993 to treat sewage, completed in 1997 and completed trial operations, but was soon shut down due to collective complaints about the stench. It is now left abandoned for quite a long time, filled with dirt, fallen leaves and dust from various animals.

Park Ji-hye tried to express the problematic situation contained in the space in an intuitive way through her eyes. To this end, the author has actually visited this space several times over different times and seasons to experience and observe it. It also collected real sounds and turned them into music through collaboration with video technology and music engineers. His video work uses visual images and sound to deliver the current situation in a implicit and nonlinear manner. The author tries to experiment with how he can lead the audience through his own view of a social issue.
