			From April 8 to May 7, 2021, Cho moonhee's solo exhibition will be held at Gallery Chosun. 

Cho moonhee will present photographs of the townhouse's surrealistic and aesthetic of human life in the exhibition. High-end townhouses often found around new towns outside Seoul. For us who are familiar with the elegant and refined architecture, interior and uniform structure of apartments that we may have seen in the movie, such a townhouse is an ideal to see. These buildings, which are fully decorated with fine finishing materials, well-organized complex and beautiful landscaping, are very new landscapes that best reflect our desires of this era. It would be natural for the perception and structure of the house to change depending on the time and environment, but "Town House" was a newly developed landscape due to overcrowding and development, and it came as the most interesting material for the artist. 

"Are people living in such places really happy?" Town House could be a stage in an empty play, or a place that felt like a scene from an ad. Looking at the beautiful but not warm, she thinks her life. Just as an artwork is completed by communication with the audiences, a house where individual lives are melting in is a true beautiful house.

The landscape is constantly changing. Just a little out of Seoul, an exotic new landscape unfolded. The new landscape contains the utopia that was dreamed of at that era. At now, what does it mean to live in a new landscape?  

This place, which ideally represents the space of house, leads to ambivalent emotions. The townhouse is coldly cut off to create exotic landscapes and maintain a perfect private space, but at some point, it reveals its bare face and announces the existence of a person. At that moment, it shows the beauty of living. Strictly protected and shining beautifully, the space is hugging a million of emotions.  

" Always curious. How they live in there?" It is beautiful that there are such things that can be seen in a moment. … At that moment when my bare face is revealed." (interview) Cho Moon-hee thinks that the inside of the building is the bare face of the building. The artist reveals the multi-layered meaning of the townhouse by showing the face of the townhouse that exists in layers. The severance of the Korean townhouse, the warmth of life permeating it, and the moment when the beauty of the building is revealed, are all self-portraits of the townhouse. The townhouse, which was like a movie set that sells Western ideal, and not much different from the theater stage, transforms from a film site to a fully living site due to just the fact that people live in it. Now it is time to read the story of a multi-story and potential townhouse written in emotional language inside the formative castle.
