Exhibition Information
This year marks the 100th anniversary of the March 1st Movement and the 90th anniversary of the Gwangju Student Independence Movement. The exhibition is designed to remember the desperate desire for independence and the sacrifice of the Korean people who were deprived of their country. It will be a venue to re-examine the March 1st Movement and the independence movement of the people of South Korea and to introduce the sea of Joseon, which was brutally seized by Japanese imperialism. The exhibition contains 3.1 Declaration of Independence, an independent song, The inaugural newspaper of the Chosun Independent Gwangju(1919), Postcard from the prison of Kim Sang-hwan, the leader of Gwangju Student Movement(1930), materials of independence fighters from Jeollanam-do, including Chang Byung-joon, a former independence activist from Jangsando, Shinan, and Park Ki-ok, a leading role in the Gwangju Student Independence Movement.
