The Pohang Museum of Art organized the 2020 Collection Exhibition, <Pohang Landscape>, to celebrate the new year in 2020. Among the collections, the exhibition will showcase works by Pohang-themed authors Kim Woo-jo, Lee Kyung-hee and Park Young-dal. They capture the beautiful scenery of Pohang in different media such as prints, watercolors and photographs, which are important for the study of local art history. The three writers are born 1910 - 20 in the Japanese colonial rule and the Korean War, modern and contemporary, such as bleak and desperate times have lived in a Volatile Era. Nevertheless, we wanted to record the realistic aspects and scenery of our lives rather than the sorrows of the times to reveal our inner hearts metaphorically. The collection exhibition presents works that best reveal the vivid landscapes and regional features of the old Pohang. I would like to introduce three artists who occupy an important position in establishing the history of modern culture and art in Pohang to look back on Pohang in the past and re-examine local art. In the future, the Pohang Museum of Art will collect and study the artists and works that can reveal Pohang's identity to citizens by shedding light on its art history values in various ways.
