Exhibition Information
Kim Yun-hae's solo exhibition 'The Kingdom of Animals' will be held from the 7th to the 31st at the Seohak-dong Photo Gallery in Jeonju. In Kim Yun-hae's 'Animal Kingdom', there are no real-life animals as expected. The sharply exaggerated colors, the naked heterogeneity of materials, the arbitrarily enlarged and reduced shapes and proportions, and even the plastic residue left unfinished. The animal toys in the photo are not appetizing, ugly, sad, or produce any reaction expected from living things. Yunhae Kim's solo exhibition 'Animal Kingdom' reads 'endless human desires and the cruel future of animals' from low-cost plastic animal toys at a time when all mankind is living an unprecedented daily life due to COVID-19. This exhibition invites visitors to question the fundamentals of human life in capitalism. (Source = Gwangju Maeil Shimbun)
