			The solo exhibition ≪RHEE DONG HOON : The statue know how to dance≫ by up-and-coming artist RHEE DONG HOON, who is attracting attention for his sensuous sculpture work, will be held at Gallery SP from July 8 (Thu) to July 31 (Sat). open This exhibition is RHEE DONG HOON's second solo exhibition, featuring about 12 sculptures and paintings.

​This exhibition focuses on figure sculptures, and depicts idols dancing. The title of the exhibition 'The statue know how to dance' is taken from comments written by fans on the idol's dance video. made a piece

Each work borrows the title of a specific idol group song as it is. The artist captured the appearance of a member of the group and sculpted it, explaining that he focused on the subject that would be good for expressing choreography and costumes rather than a preference for a specific member. The painting work is done by placing the produced sculpture on a rotating table and looking at the image produced by photographing the rotating sculpture as a panorama. This is the intention to see and reproduce the sculpture, but to transfer the colors and textures that appear in the sculpture to a two-dimensional plane rather than an object with a sense of volume.

New works, including the notable work ‘Not Shy’ in this exhibition, stand out with more vivid and colorful colors than the artist’s existing works. RHEE DONG HOON's work with added color and movement breathes life into the space and approaches the viewer as an object of play and pleasure.
