‘제이디 차(b.1983 Zadie Xa)’는 한국계 캐나다인으로서 겪어왔던 개인적인 경험을 바탕으로 혼종의 정체성과 타자성에 대해 탐구한다. 이는 다양한 동물, 혹은 문화 간의 혼종성과 모계로 전승되는 유산에 대한 관심으로 이어지며 마고 할미, 바리공주 등 여성이 주도하는 한국 전통 샤머니즘에 대한 이야기는 작가의 시선을 통해 회화와 조각, 설치 등의 매체로 재탄생된다.
