맨디 엘-사예(1985년 말레이시아 출생, 런던 거주)는 2007년 런던 웨스트민스터 대학교에서 학사 학위를 받고, 2011년 런던 왕립예술학교에서 회화전공으로 석사 학위를 받았다. 엘-사예의 대표적인 개인전으로는 레바논 베이루트 서속 미술관(2019), 파리 베통 살롱(2019), 런던 치젠해일 갤러리(2019), 멕시코 과달라하라 미스테이크 룸(2018), 런던 칼 코스티얄(2017)에서의 전시가 있다. 또한 작가는 다양한 그룹전에도 참여했는데, 대표적인 그룹전으로는 뉴욕 롱아일랜드시티 조각 센터의 Searching the Sky for Rain(2019), 베를린 사비 컨템포러리의 Ecologies of Darkness(2019), 콜롬비아 보고타 인스티투토 데 비시온의 Deterioro y Poder(2018), 난징 시팡 미술관의 Lessons in Agronomy(2017), 제13회 샤르자 비엔날레 Boundary Work(2017), 뉴욕 MoMA PS1 뉴욕 아트북페어에서 Oscar Murillo와 Yutaka Sone와 함께한 Room Services(2016), 스톡홀름 칼 코스티얄의 For Pete’s Sake(2016), 런던 엘리자베스 하우스의 Elizabeth House(2011), 런던 갤러리 웨스트의 Responsive Eye(2011) 등이 있다. 엘-사예의 작품은 유수의 공공기관 및 사립 컬렉션에 포함되어 있으며, 작가의 작품이 소장된 대표적인 기관으로는 런던의 Nicoletta Fiorucci Russo 컬렉션, 중국 상하이 스타트 뮤지엄 등이 있다. 엘- 사예는 2017년 런던 화이트 채플 갤러리와 함께하는 막스 마라 여성 예술상 최종 후보로 선정되었으며, 2017- 19년에는 LUMA 재단의 지원을 받는 치젠해일 갤러리 커미션 프로그램에 초청되었다.
