<Paik Nam June: VIDEOTIC IDEAS> Paik Nam June x Interart Channel x VIDEO BITES paint the canvas called TV just as accurately as da Vinci, as freely as Picasso, as colorfully as Renoir, as profoundly as Mondrian, and as fiercely as Pollock – Paik Nam June Paik Nam June, the pioneer of video art, expressed his own videotic ideas through various mediums, such as TV sculptures, drawings, photographs, and performance music scores. From his early works – performance and music scores that began with the Fluxus movement, various forms of TV sculptures that used TV - a visual medium just like a brush on canvas - and still images that followed from his past monumental video work, video art was developed into diverse mediums suggesting different significances in Paik’s continuous artistic exploration and experiments. <Paik Nam June: VIDEOTIC IDEAS> will introduce art pieces that realized Paik’s videotic Imagination through his keen selection of mediums, and invite you to the world of Paik Nam June where he freely crossed the boundary between matter and non-material.
