HITE Collection presents 21st Century Paintings, an exhibition featuring works by 11 young artists of 2021 including Sy Kang, Kijeong Kim, Minsu Kim, Yeju Roh, Hyojeong Son, Seoyoon Yi, Hanna Lee, Changkon Lim, Soojung Jung, Yiji Jeong, and Wheekyung Jo. This exhibition takes a look into the traditional medium of painting, not through a past or present perfect tense, but from the perspective of the future perfect tense. The artists cast questions on the conventions in reading painting, freely diverging from such traditions to create new trajectories while contemplating on the relationship between social practices and life through art. 21st Century Paintings portrays the future of painting as directed by these open-minded and free-spirited artists and their endeavors.
