Exhibition Information
Space K Seoul is proud to present FLOWERS on the BORDER, an exhibition of Neo Rauch (b.1960) and Rosa Loy (b.1958), the best-known artists for leading the New Leipzig School in post-reunification Germany. As a married couple, their personal and artistic lives are undoubtedly connected, and special collaborative work is exhibited for the first time in Korea. Neo Rauch was born and raised in Leipzig, working in his hometown for his entire life. He produces mysterious scenery, which the narration and the intention are not directly visible on the surface, encouraging the viewers to create their own stories. Rosa Loy moved to Leipzig to study art after obtaining a diploma in Berlin, where she questions the role of women in modern society by depicting female figures with various ranges of expressions. We invite you to the fantastical journey to explore the metaphors and symbols circling human nature.
