			LUV Contemporary Art Seoul will hold Jackson shim's solo exhibition <Pretty Young Thing>  as the first exhibition in the new Gahoe-dong space that has been expanded and relocated.

the exhibition offers about 20 alphabet cards series of Jackson shim, which have recently attracted attention in the art market.

     

The alphabet card series began when the artist saw the moment that his young daughter was studying coloring. he was strongly inspired by the expression of a child who freely painted the color without restrictions. the artist's accidental gaze creates a new style of painting, and freely arranged characters, such as graffiti that stood out in the previous work, appear on the screen independently as if they were sticking out of the cartoon in the alphabet card series.

     

as like a unskilled picture by crayon, The touch looks like unconstrained and unpolished, but quickly becomes sensuous. and that evoking childhood, while bright and vivid colors are fascinated by contemporary sensations.

     

Meanwhile, direct messages such as the capitalist symbols Rich Royal ("$", "R") that the core devices of the Jackson shim world, and the Comics series (2021), which reconstructs fairy tale endings from the perspective of modern adults, are stacked on canvas to condense Jackson shim's worldview.

     

We are remembering the word cards listed from A to Z, which were attached to the wall when we were young. The memories of the artist's childhood beloved muse and meeting while growing up settled on a canvas transformed into a card.

     

Jackson Shim has expressed his honest desire in a message that penetrates contemporaries. Through the artist's ironic humor code, conflicting ideas are hidden such as boys and adults, childhood and capitalism, unstoppable and delicate. I recommend you to participate in his artistic journey to find childhood and happiness even in the reality of adulthood.
