			‘Space K Seoul’ presents ‘Road to Purple’, a solo exhibition of Je Yeo Ran. For more than 30 years, the artist has been focusing on abstract painting. Inspired from the nature and rendered by her own body movements her works are becoming more like nature again.
The artist's gestures with a squeegee create a new universe inside the canvas. There are rays of light spread between colors, also are tension and coordination between the body and the canvas that vary with the viscosity of the material.
The exhibition walks the viewer through the journey that she has taken throughout her career as painter. As the audience passes through the dark swamp entrance and follows the colorful collisions and recoils, they eventually encounter a purple painting. Purple sometimes reminds us of depression and anxiety, but it also symbolizes peace or a noble plane. The artist invites us to ‘Road to Purple' achieved by quenching herself countless times between sacredness and mundanity, light and darkness.
