Exhibition Information

			Space 55 and the Koganecho Area Management Center are currently carrying out an exchange programme titled Golden Mind 55 with the support of Korean investment company Clear Mind Investment. The Koganecho Area Management Center, which implements a “town redevelopment through art” programme in a former red light district in Yokohama, holds artist in residence programmes (AIR) in Japan. This international exchange project was started thanks to a connection made by filmmaker and 2015-17 Koganecho AIR participant Yoo Sung Jun. An exhibition, “the Narrative in their Eyes” was held from May through June in Koganecho, introducing seven Seoul-based artists with connections to Space 55. And at Space 55, there will be an exThe title of this exhibition is borrowed from “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”. Alice has strange and otherworldly experiences with the residents of Wonderland; nonsensical speech, shifts in physical proportions, and a condensing of time. Just like Alice, as you turn just one street off the main road in Koganecho, it feels as though you have walked into another world. This feeling is created by the history of the area, and the artists who bring to light the mystery of the atmosphere. In this exhibition, we will introduce the Wonderland of art, along with some of the mystery of the lives of Koganecho.hibition showcasing the work of six artists from Koganecho, titled “Koganecho in Wonderland”.
