Exhibition Information
Albus Gallery, the only gallery in Korea specializing in illustration, opens Masters of Polish Illustration for its 6th anniversary. The exhibition organized by the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and hosted by the Suncheon Picture Book Library, was the largest Polish children’s book illustration exhibition held overseas, and now opens in Seoul. The exhibition spans over key figures of 100 years of Polish children’s book illustration, ranging from works of avant-garde artists of the 1930s, to postmodern picture book illustrations. This exhibition includes valuable original works of artists from the so-called Polish School of Illustration, which brilliantly developed behind the Iron Curtain in the 1960s and 1970s. These works, which were drawn at a completely different time and place, will provide a place for both children and adults to feel anew the charm and emotions of illustration art.
