Exhibition Information
- The landscapes in my paintings usually represent raw nature, wriggling in its primeval, undetermined state. To me, it looks like a moment in a place where the beginning and end of the world converge. I yearn for the beings in the paintings to be physical manifestations of the prolonged temporality of that moment. - The subjects of my paintings are, for the most part, each enduring hardships they face. More often than not, the outcome tends toward failure, which is okay by me. I want colors to be intensely attractive yet forbidding in the work, the fierce clashes rendering a world of extremes.
