Exhibition Information

Hippie Hannam Gallery presents <Zoom In, Zoom Out> a two-person exhibition by contemporary artists Paik Joomee (@joomeepaik) and Jeong Zik Seong (@jeongzs), on view from October 18 to November 15. The exhibition reflects on how the two artists, each from their own distance of perception, have explored life, time, and memory through the language of abstraction. Paik Joomee visualizes the layered structure of memory that intertwines within the texture of flowing time through media art, while Jeong Zik Seong condenses traces of concrete moments and emotions into painterly forms. If Paik Joomee’s media works unfold the landscapes of time through a “Zoom Out” perspective—capturing the vast flow of temporal rhythms—then Jeong Zik Seong’s paintings “Zoom In” on the residual sensations of memory and emotion, tracing the subtle marks left within the inner landscape of life. <Zoom In, Zoom Out> brings together over two decades of the artists’ creative practices and serves as an exploration of perspective—where the micro and the macro, painting and media, intersect in dialogue. As their sensibilities converge on the surface, each work resonates with the other, inviting viewers to contemplate distance, depth, and emotional nuance within the passage of time.
