<The decorative plant> a private exhibition of folk paintings Illustrator Min Jung-hwa’s first solo exhibition in Korea will be held at Factory 2. The series of still-life paintings from The Decorative Plant is inspired by the German countryside where the author lives. a gentle bend of hills, dizzyingly climbing and stretching in the high dark forest, small stones and branches rolling in the wind, and varying light and shadows from time to time. The Descriptive Plant series, a group of stories created by straight lines, curves, forms and abstracts, and creatures that combine organic shapes with geometrical order to solve them in still life. Introduction of the artist The illustrator Min Jung-hwa, who mainly works on art books, picture books and various printing, is based in Germany and works in and out of Korea. The series, which has been focused on since 2018, is Min Jung-hwa’s first painting project and will be presented as the second individual exhibition in Korea after Berlin (WESERHALLE, Berlin, 2019).
