Exhibition Information

			Ahn Cho-rong's solo exhibition <Natural Gene> will be held in tastehouse from June 17 to July 18, 2020. The exhibition will reveal the back images of postcards sent by the author's friend from 2007 to 2011, and photos taken by Ahn Cho-rong from 2013 to 2019. The backside image of the postcard becomes a small view inside the rocket pendant necklace or as the background of the exhibition expanded by the ultra wide screen ratio, is trimmed according to the plate of the magazine vogue girl and is implemented in the exhibition hall with a reduced and enlarged print image. Photographs of Ahn Cho-rong will be released with snapshots of 1st Try, 2nd Try and only one cur, taking the same target with a 35mm small film camera at several business trips. Like the writer's habit, a photo taken twice shows the focus and composition slightly changing, or the passerby of a travel destination appears or disappears, re-examining what he wanted to say from the perspective of a picture, and throws the small and serious time that happened during the first and second photos like the images attached to the message. Images taken in a single cut fit into various off-the-shelf frames, presenting the Sunset image landscape from a friend's postcard like a home decoration accessory on the horizen.

Prior to the exhibition, the book "Natural Gene" of the same title was made. The book, which begins with a scanned image of a phase describing the scene of Psyche and Cupid meeting for the first time, and ends with an image of a bookmark containing the lyrics of Sade Maureen, contains all the images released in the exhibitions in the order of arbitrary arrangement by the author. Postcards from friends who have traveled around the world and photos and images taken by writer Ahn Cho-rong at other travel destinations are gathered and objectified in various media and sent from the exhibition and the book, <Natural Gene>. Through the photo book that flows through the time of the broken and curved lines and the methodology of displaying various stylized photographic images, Ahn Cho-rong silently watches what has passed without arriving.
