Exhibition Information

			The exhibition title, "LET'S HYGGE", combines 'carbohydrate', a ingredient that makes up food such as rice, noodles, snacks and bread, and 'Hygge', a Danish word for comfortable and pleasant conditions. Carbohydrates are a combination of carbon and water, also called sugar. Carbohydrates are nutrients that are easy to deliver energy instantly, making them the most basic nutrients to live on. The small but small euphoria we get from these carbohydrates is also called a 'hygge'. Danish people say that they describe comfortable and pleasant conditions, and the happiness they feel when talking with people while eating delicious food, so we decide to call it the fullness and happiness we feel while eating bread or noodles.

This exhibition introduces paintings of artists cherished in the bookmarks, which are taken out whenever comfort is needed. <Let's Hygge> is an exhibition of the small happiness of everyday life what was too ordinary to realize. It deals with a small material called bread and noodles, but it represents a daily routine that lasts without a hitch. I hope the works of these three authors will soothe any longing for our lost daily lives, and I believe that one day we will return to our lives as if we were smudgingly.
