Exhibition Information
The marine sector was the exclusive property of representative men that women could not enter. It stems from the prejudice that women, who are biologically weaker than men, cannot withstand the rough seas. Nevertheless, the woman developed her life and culture on the beach, and she was not afraid of the sea. Women living on the beach have been strong and have developed their own ways of life. Although women in traditional society helped men stay around the sea. However, modern women gradually broke down the "wall of taboos" and moved out to sea with men, and are also actively advancing into the marine specialty field. The exhibition introduces the hard life of women who have been with the sea for a long time, and tries to address the challenges and hopes that they have now dreamed of. By introducing these changes in perception of the sea and women, I hope it will be an opportunity for a small movement to resolve negative preconceptions and develop into a gender-equal society.
