Exhibition Information
On a food program on TV, I saw a video about steak, the epitome of various beef dishes and high-end beef dishes. Each country's steak was shown, and as a restaurant in New York cut steaks, the cast explained that the earliest steaks in the U.S. were a symbol of power for wealthy men. Here, I was interested in the proposition Steak = Power, and I worked on combining several meat photos and other images. The meat image was used as a material to show the fight of bloody carnivores. The taste series directed by the 2018 individual exhibition features photos downloaded from the Internet in Photoshop, printed on vinyl used for outdoor signboards, and painted in acrylic paints on canvas this time.
