Exhibition Information

			NextCode is a project that began with the exhibition "Spring of Transition" in 1990 and led to "NextCode" in 2008 and discovered and introduced 132 talented young writers for more than 20 years. 

The six participating artists consider the structure and cross-section of the city-society of the contemporary era with their own eyes, with the regional link of the city called Daejeon. From painting to installation, it establishes its own unique sculpture world and presents a new tomorrow of Korean contemporary art beyond the region.

Introduction of Artists

Min Bo-ra
Min Bora works on modern Korean painting that contains contemporary sensibilities in the unique sensibilities of "Muk," a traditional ingredient. It depicts the abstract but distinctly existing flow of time as a trace. It adds LEDs to traditional paintings by adding ink to the work, and instead of the artist's intentions or messages, it allows visitors to face the work with their own senses and reasons. 

Park Jong Wook
Park Jongwook creates virtual life and stories and uses them as a basic element and vision for his work to describe images. The Conkammer series, which is a representative work, is a combination of collection activities, the author's intimate memories, and fantasies that seem to face a new world. 

the stars in one's hands
Handset Star does conceptual photography. Excavation Year: 2093 is a work that sets out that current objects will be excavated in 2033. It asks for possible changes in value when looking at objects and landscapes that are taken for granted in everyday life and used in the future. It is refreshing to think beyond the limits of the photo media, using the characteristics of the past as the moment you take it. 

Lee Jung Sik
This formula creates a single text and visualizes it as a task, such as a video, installation, etc. They talk about complex relationships and the sense of closeness and dignity in the structure through the appearance of being alienated or pushed out of our society. 

Wuhanna
Installation artist Wuhanna works with the narrative using various materials. His work coexists with the luxury and elegance of the fabric, which is the main ingredient. At first glance, it is like a beautiful doll or an object, but it clearly captures various social phenomena and images of the contemporary era without any artificial devices. 

Hong Hye Rim
Hong Hyerim looks at her experiences and events from various perspectives and uses them as a subject of her work. It is characterized by rearranging internal materials such as personal memories, trauma, and aspirations from the future to the past and weaving them together with specific images or objects.
