Exhibition Information
We will measure the future direction of Korean art in Daejeon to Introduce to the work of established artists who have been steadily through the activities in Daejeon and Through this, we diagnose local art ability. This exhibition of "Time to Eat" has once again returned to the subject of "Muk." In <Korean Painting, New and Yuqi>, if it was intended to reinterpret Korean painting through the 'width' of Korean painting, it was intended to cover the depth of Korean painting in this exhibition. Korean painters in Daejeon have various aspects from traditional landscape painting to experimental field art as well as works dealing with modern elements and materials. However, since all of these trends and aspects are eventually converging into the "eating" of Korean painting, "eating" is considered an important keyword to encompass the Koreanization of Daejeon. "Muk" is more than a medium in that even the spirit of Korean painting can be projected through "Muk," although it may be seen as just one of the materials for Korean painting. Why are we paying attention to eating again at this time? The exhibition began with the aim of healing the social isolation caused by Corona 19 and the collapse of solidarity among members of society and the resulting depression with art. In particular, in addition to the representative works of participating artists, works that reinterpret Chusa Kim Jung-hee's "Sehse-do" will be displayed together. As is well known, "Sehse-do" is a painting to convey to Chu-sa's disciples of Jeju Island, who interacted with him, and only one shabby house and several dried trees in the cold were painted. It is generally interpreted as friendship and loyalty that does not change even in difficult times. Let's hope this exhibition, "Time of Eat," which contains works reinterpreted by artists in their own ways, will comfort us who are firmly living the Corona 19th era.
