Exhibition Information
Another moving image in the photograph-painted still landscape. "The video installation process is very one-off, so the time to meet with visitors is very short compared to the long preparation period. Although the exhibition is held in the U.S. for more than a month, I thought it was futile to withdraw my work in Korea within a week or two. So I started to think about how to install easy and portable images suitable for the domestic exhibition environment." Then, I thought that I would be able to film it with a video work, just like the one on a big white canvas. Subsequently, the company devised a method of putting images into frame-shaped frames. Carefully cut white paper into small frames and attached a small LED monitor to them. I put it on one side of the exhibition hall. I was nervous, but the result was satisfactory. After his first work, he became a little bolder. I pierced the window in the picture and attached a monitor to it. The location of the photo and the time of the video were exquisitely matched. "The conventional wisdom was that pictures were pictures and videos were videos. I was afraid to break that boundary, but I thought I could overcome that limit. I wanted to express the feeling of space through the combination of the two." Lim Chang-min
