Exhibition Information
'What defines Paintings?' 'What makes a Painting as a painting?' Most paintings, a representative medium of two dimensions, conduct images in the space inside the frame. Accordingly, when we appreciate or recall a painting, we think about the image in the frame hanging on the wall. At the same time as asking questions about such unconsciously defined 'painting', the author focuses on the elements that form and define the medium of painting: frame, materiality, and flatness. Space, where works and audiences meet, is not just a physical space, but a place where sensory exchanges take place. The objects can be objects and audiences, or writers and audiences. The physical and non-material interactions between them not only affect the writer and the work but also change the work momentarily. The work that unfolds when existing artists' works meet with a space called "Gasamrojiul" contains a temporary nature while providing a new perceptual experience of painting.
