"Where is the place that I dreamed as Dowon?" It is a verse of a poem written by Prince Anpyeong while looking at Mongyudo Wondo. A man wandering around the mountain enters Mureungdowon without even realizing it. There is a beautiful flower path and there are people who spend peaceful days. After staying for a few days, the man goes back home. And I tried to come back here, but this paradise was never seen again. Like this folktale, 'Paradise' is a mysterious and disappear place. The art wall of the main building, where Cha Kyu-sun's work unfolds, reminds me of another Mureungdowon. He paints the magnificence of the snowfield with the flamboyant flowers of spring. The scenery in his mind is another dream garden. Walking along a flowery tree path full of fragrance in dreams is an impression. Without any purpose or desire, they abandon their obsession and head for Nirvana. It transcends the pain and loneliness of the world and unfolds a mountainous world that is fundamentally free from the outside world. If freely drawn nature means co-prosperity and recovery of idealism, the artist's work process is like performance. The works with scenes from Gyeongju, Andong, Cheongdo, and Gangwon-do are painted with his footprints melted, reflection in the work process, and oriental atmosphere. In his work, which seems to have inherited the tradition of Seonbihwa, I hope you can feel the contradiction of reality and the utopia that has escaped the yoke of reality.
