Exhibition Information
In this exhibition, they propose the Shell Cabinet, which inherits the cabinet of curiosities in a contemporary sense. Just as the clothes in the closet are a means to protect the body from the external environment and a means of decoration, the shells they collect in their shell cabinets serve as both a shield for survival as artists in the art world and a means of entertainment. In the exhibition where shells are taken out of their cabinets and spread out together, each work is not independent of each other, but interpenetrates as the sculpture in the center of the exhibition suggests. The words left by the person who left me, the empty plastic bottle and the sugar wrapper presuppose the leaving object and the act of leaving, and this can be seen in the sculptures erected in the state of a shell, either forgetting or losing the solid support they depended on. In this way, each work absorbs and reflects each other like mirrors placed face to face. (Source = Exhibition space)
