Exhibition Information
The answer presented by Woo Byung-chul to "Seeing" is to understand the relationship between me and the target and the relationship between the targets by interpreting an objective object other than "I." The meaning of I see you encompasses the meaning of "knowing" you beyond simply recognizing existence. Therefore, the artist focuses on the essence of "drawing" with his heart while constantly working on canvas. Woo Byung-chul's work is an oil painting, but it feels like an ink-and-wash painting, and at the same time, it is neither an imaginary painting nor too realistic as a picture. The scenery that catches the eye of the beholder by repeating "going away" and "coming close" comforts us who have lived away from travel for a while. At the same time, I feel the author's will and moved by the artist's precise description.
