Exhibition Information
In June 2021, Gana Foundation for Arts and Culture is pleased to announce an exhibition Yongbieocheonga of Inkstone Sung by the Sun and the Moon. Organized in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the poet Sacheon Lee Geun-bae’s debut, the president of The National Academy of Arts of The Republic of Korea, the exhibition is valued for presenting the old inkstones of Korea the poet has collected for half of his life. Among the ‘four treasures of the study(paper, brush, ink and inkstone)’ used by ancient writers, only the inkstone does not wear out and is handed down with the culture of the age. The exhibition mainly consists Wiwonhwachoseokilwolyeon, a red and green Wiwon stone(Wiwonseok), seemed made by God and carved with hyperrealistic patterns; and an Inkstone in Boryeong Nampo stone(Namposeok), Jeong Yak-yong chose as the best.
