Exhibition Information
Marking the fifth anniversary of its opening, the Cheongju Museum of Art will hold an exhibition titled "Kim Jae-gwan," which led modern Korean art with geometric abstract paintings. It was designed to establish a local art world by examining and recording Kim Jae-gwan's works, which connected the genealogy of geometric abstract paintings, which was the mainstream painting style in Korea in the 1970s. This exhibition systematically views works of "geometric abstract painting" such as three-dimensional painting, as it evolves from the early flat paintings that began geometry. The artist's world of work, starting with the grid and the square, shows an advanced aspect through several stages of change.
