Exhibition Information
The Korea Photographers Gallery will hold a photo exhibition titled "Mongma / The Unconscientious Mind" by Heo Seung-beom from July 8 to July 17. 'Mongma' is a Chinese word meaning a demon that attacks a person who is sleeping at night and gives them nightmares. In this exhibition, Heo Seung-beom introduces the dark thoughts and desires inherent in the collective unconsciousness of modern people living today based on the nightmares he and his neighbors had through photography and video work. He says that behind the industrialization and civilization that our society has rapidly achieved while preparing for this exhibition, there are suppressed desires and desires of individuals that have not been resolved, which are subconscious and expressed through dreams. The K.P. Gallery aims to look back on our lives and reflect on the lives and images of modern people who are unconscious and dream-expressing through the exhibition, suppressing mental anxiety, pressure, and stress.
