Exhibition Information
One ordinary day In Cung Sooyoung's work, only various objects such as books, furniture, and others appear, and we can guess the owner's tastes, habits, interests, and occupation through the arrangement and composition of these objects placed in certain spaces. The ordinary-looking "daily products" borrowed by the artist as a work material are extremely personal props and at the same time, traces of being conscious of others' eyes. Visitors will not only look into individual personal tastes but also find codes of consumption and longing reflecting the present era by looking at props and books piled up on one side of the room. The author endured a rock-down period in London, taking a close look at the daily spaces where she passed away unconsciously before. As a result, the new work features an individual who has become dependent on online shopping due to restrictions on going out, or a new perspective on family members who have shared more time than before. And the artist brought the main theme of this exhibition to lighten up the inherent anxiety and desire of all of us living in the pandemic era. What does your daily life looks like as you pass through the summer of 2021 and the objects surrounding it? (source = nobless collection)
