Exhibition Information

《Dynamic & Alive Korean Art》 started with the question ‘What is Korean beauty?’ and tried to find the DNA of Korean beauty that transcends time and space by confronting and responding to the cultural assets of the museum and the art works of the art gallery. And the exhibition tried to look at the influence and meaning of tradition on Korean modern and contemporary art.

The exhibition focuses on four keywords, “Sacred and Ideal,” “Elegant and Simple,” “Decorative and Worldly,” and “Dynamic and Hybrid,” which are the core of East Asian aesthetics and have served as milestones in the recognition of traditions by modern and contemporary artists.

Director Yoon Bum-mo of the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, said, “This is a rare exhibition in which national treasures and treasures are displayed together with contemporary art works. I hope you can feel it.”
