From October 25 to November 4, OverLab.2021 ICC's 3rd exhibition ⟪Groping Montage -a method of memories⟫ will be held.

Curator Seora Kim, a participant in this program, majored in Korean Language and literature and Philosophy, and is interested in and writing critiques issues in specific regions, including visual arts.

 

 The ⟪Groping Montage -a method of memories⟫ visually shows that the method of memory is also changing in the city that is being dug up and disappearing every time. The continuity of memory has been dismantled for us who live in spaces that are newly fragmented every time through redevelopment and architecture. Fragments of memories that have become lost hometowns and broken houses are painful every time we recall them. The artist's artistic practice of capturing memories that are not mourned is to montage them.

 

This exhibition with artist Lee Jin is an explanation of the method of memory. The fragmented memories of city dwellers who experience fragmented spaces have the potential to create another place when newly constructed in a montage manner. Visitors to the exhibition can experience the montage by attaching fragments to the artist's new work (Groping_2), and there is an opportunity to talk with the artist on Thursday, November 4 at 1pm. Through exhibitions and dialogues, the artist's artistic practice and the possibility of art as a method are to be considered together.
