Ulsan Art Museum would like to present Yeondoo JUNG: Crow’s Eye View(烏瞰圖) as a second exhibition for the museum's Immersive Media Art Laboratory(XR Lab). This exhibition displays a view of Ulsan from the perspective of a crow. Inspired by a homonymous poem by Sang YI, the artist depicts a flock of crows traveling to look for habitats, portraying the unstable life of modern citizens who live without a certain destination metaphorically. The singer Aancod, a white Bohemian raised in Korea with Japanese parents, appears in the work as a free soul who wanders from place to place with no attribution.
The artist depicts Ulsan based on the documentary through crows and the singer, but in fact, metaphorically reflects the dream of a city that we should aim for.
The artist's very first attempt on immersive media and a subtle tension between reality and fiction permeating the artist's oeuvre will be the essence of this exhibition. Please come and join us for enjoying the beauty of Ulsan through the Crow’s Eye View.
