Exhibition Information

			The exhibition “Dawn, Dream and Deed” was born out of a question: what is the role of art in a time filled with instability, such as political tensions, and intensifying climate change, and the coronavirus pandemic which people around the world have experienced together. ‘Dawn’ in the exhibition’s title conveys ambivalent feelings about the uncertainty of our society – events, accidents, and disasters that are not tangible, but can happen. Meanwhile, the forward-looking connotations of ‘dream’, combined with ‘deed’, reveal a commitment to the possibility of a symbiotic relationship between humans and nature that goes beyond mere uncertainty and anxiety.

Organized by the CAN Foundation and 701 e.V. in Düsseldorf and curated by Frank Boehm and Doyoun Kim (CAN Foundation), the exhibition will be held sequentially in Korea (2023) and Germany (2024).
