Exhibition Information
As the first exhibition to open in 2020, Kyobo ArtSpace will present "From Here, Far Away," a two-person exhibition of "Kim Ok-sun and Jung Yeon-doo." The exhibition centers on the lives of individual typified individuals in an attempt to think about the various "dream" of people living in modern society. Many people’s long-cherished "dream" resembles "utopia" as an ideal place where everything will come true. Thomas Moretopia, which is "unexpected, but desired," is an unrealistic and fanciful impression of no. However, because it is not yet available, it can be a principle of hope that supports everyday life, and it can also correct the direction of human beings so that they can get to a better place. Here, the exhibition "The Far Away" tells the story of Thomas More’s "Dream" in line with the description of "The Country Not Exist or Never Gone," through the works of the two authors, and allows him to think about his "Dream" as something unfamiliar to the audience but entirely his own. At the exhibition, Kim Ok-sun will present "My Love Genie," a series about escape and hope in foreign lands, and a series of "Light Things" that look at palm trees in Jeju from the same perspective as strangers, and Jeong Yeon-doo will travel to 14 countries around the world since 2001 to ask about people’s dreams and realize their dreams with pictures. The two artists, Kim Ok-sun and Jeong Yeon-doo, complete a story by solving an epic about a dream that is long-cherished but does not exist here now with a video and a photo.
