The exiled stream is a punishment that sends a guilty man to a remote place and prevents him from returning to his home country.
During the Joseon Dynasty, the death penalty was a serious punishment right before the death penalty. During the Joseon Dynasty, it was used as a means to maintain power by suppressing and isolating dissenters.
Jeju, in particular, was the number one place of exile during the Joseon Dynasty where the most number of exiles came. Not only the king but also the king of the Joseon Dynasty, but also the middle, common people, as well as the middle, and the reason for the exile varied from political strife to theft.
This exhibition shows the life, love, learning and relationships of these exile people.

The exhibition consists of three main parts, and you can see the images of the exile who had to live in a strange land called Jeju.

And Daejeong-hyun’s family registry, which contains a record of unknown exile, is also on display to see that there were a lot more exiles than we knew.

Part II: Waiting for a Hard and Desperate Time in a Strange Land tells the story of three generations of families who have been sent to Jeju for political reasons, their love from lonely and miserable exile, and those who have looked back on themselves and are devoted to their studies.
In particular, portraits of the Kim Chun-taek family involved in the power struggle between Queen Sukjong and Queen Inhyeon, and the Jo Jung-chul family involved in the Jeongjo assassination of King Jeongjo, as well as a rubbing of the Hongui Women’s Tomb for Hong Yun-ae, a Jeju woman, will be displayed.
Also on display will be Kim Jeong-hee’s "Choi-cho in Dajeonhwa," who established Chusache in Jeju’s exile city, and Kim Jeong-hee’s "Mooksa Saja Chan" (treasure No. 547) which was handed down by Kim Jeong-hee to her friend Kwon Don-ja (treasure No. 1685-1), and Heo Ryon-ryeon, who made a sacrifice.
Although it was not written in Jeju, you can miss out on "Mukjuga Saja Chan," the site of a harpoon containing the front page of Kim Jung-hee’s Chusa Temple.
In addition, portraits of Cho Eui-sun, a friend of Kim Jong-hee, private songs written for the king, and letters exchanged with the minister of family and Jeju will be displayed to show the human face of the exile.
