Exhibition Information

			Intention of the plan |
The Daejeon Museum of Art is planning an exhibition of the "Rewrite Daejeon Art" project to contribute to the revitalization of local art and the development of modern and contemporary Korean art.

Through the collection of the Daejeon Museum of Art, this exhibition aims to reestablish the history of Daejon Art and present a new direction to move forward.
The museum is planning to display art activities that were a major issue of Daejeon art in the 1970s and 1980s, and to continue its research on the history of Daejeon.

*Gwangjajinchwi (the analyses of Confuciu)
Gwangjajinchwi is a phrase on the side of the Analects, Confucius said, "If you meet someone who executes moderation and fails to interact, you must interact with a madman or a hasty one."
"He who is mad is high in meaning and enterprising, and he who is hasty never does bad things." In the 1970s and 1980s, a self-sustaining foundation was added to Daejeon Art.
It has been spread and settled by a new generation of artists who have been engaged in challenging and enterprising art activities toward novelty.

Display contents|
Collecting and storing works is an important function and a major mission of the museum.
It also describes the history of an era by showing a contemporary perspective, linking the past with the present, and proving its connection to the region according to the collected content.
Generally, what kind of collection is buried at the head, and how good it is at the museum is a measure of its status.
The annual "Rewriting of Daejeon Art" aims to establish the museum’s identity through its collection.

This exhibition presents the flow of Daejeon Art in the 1970s and 1980s into four periods, introducing the art activities recorded by each period and presenting the collection of artists who were active during that period.
They also want to take a general look at the background of the times by displaying data that will represent their activities.
The rich and diverse materials we meet today and the activities of writers play a very important role in understanding the cross-section of Daejeon Art.
I hope this will serve as an opportunity to reflect on the identity and the historical significance of Daejeon Art.
