Exhibition Information
KT&G Sangsang Madang has held various exhibitions introducing independent cultural contents to the public for the past decade or so, actively supporting the culture of creators who self-sufficiently solve planning/production/distribution. In addition to the recent trend of single-person households, non-marriageism, and 'culture of one' (eating alone 'honbap' in Korean/ drinking alone 'honsul' in Korean etc.) the number of single-person creators is increasing. The exhibition <I live alone>, which highlights the various aspects of one-person creators, will feature one-man publishing house Meow bookself, representative Ko Kyung-won, video writer Kim So-yoon, pianist Moon Yong, and Lee Yeon-ok, an independent designer. They present 60 publications and albums, animation(VRs, videos), art products, and interviews with their views(video, print), and personal tools, musical instruments, and more to convey their lives vividly to visitors. On the other side, there is also a space where you can indirectly experience the work and life of the writers while reading books or listening to LP music alone. While meeting the various voices and eyes of one-person creators through works such as books, music, and videos in the gallery space, visitors will be able to appreciate the meaning of 'alone' and look back on what they really pursue and want in their work and life.
