			The <New Perspective on Young Perspective> has been held continuously at the Busan Museum of Art to discover and support up-and-coming artists. Since it first began in March 1999, it has introduced about 60 young artists through a total of 15 exhibitions by 2018. The <Young Perspective New Perspective> was designed to support young artists who lacked exhibition opportunities to draw out their creative power, thereby identifying trends and trends in contemporary art and presenting their potential. This purpose is the role that public art museums should play and is in line with the exhibition policies they should pursue.

In this <STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND >, we considered various ways of selecting and displaying artists with the purpose of supporting them in mind. In the meantime, if you have selected mainly writers who work in Busan, this exhibition expanded the scope of the candidates, including those who work in Busan, even if they are not based in Busan. In addition, in previous exhibitions, academic and artistic researchers inside the museum were in charge of criticizing artists and works, but in this exhibition, an external critic designated one-on-one for each artist was required to communicate with the artist and write about the work. In particular, I hoped that the writer and his work would be exposed and discussed in a wider radius across the region by connecting critics working in Seoul to writers working in Busan and those working in Seoul with each other through the process of their interaction.

The point that penetrates the works of the six selected artists is about standards and boundaries. Writers begin by raising questions about the standards, frame and fixed way of thinking in common and unfold their own stories. The title of the exhibition, "STRANGER IN A STRANGE LAND", is short for an outsider who has come to stand in a strange world or environment, while English-language "Stranger in a Strange Land" is a phrase that appears in the Bible and other literature. It is also the title of Robert A. Heinlein's novel about the adventures of a man from Mars (1907-1988), including the Exodus 2:22 that described Moses' escape from Egypt and living in a strange land as "a guest on a strange land," and it is also the title of the novel by Robert A. Heinlein (1907-1988), who is not part of any category made in the world. This means the emotions, enlightenment, and conversion of thoughts that occur when a person who has experienced one solid world meets another, and also contains problems with the views, standards, and frameworks of the person from another world.

The six authors tell stories about our times and a part of society that we have experienced and felt socially and culturally in our own environment. Writers are actually located in the inner world, but they look at the world from the outside. Through this, writers ask questions about the standards and fixed thoughts that are popular in society, encouraging us to look at the dull scenes of our lives as thorough insiders from the perspective of outsiders. It is part of our society that always exists together, but it is also a story about an unacceptable and missing voice, a memory of any space-time that most forgets, and a picture of this society and life that we are in when we are not late.
