Exhibition Information

The Wooran Visual Arts Research Program is a human resources development program that expands and experiments participants' research topics through collections, and aims to become a venue for cooperation in exploring various perspectives on art works and sharing practical attitudes through research processes.

The project, which began with the study of pottery artist Kim Si-young's black porcelain moon jar, served as an opportunity to challenge new experiments with AI and robotic 3D printing, which are Chun's own tools and subjects of experiments.

The <Random Diversity> research exhibition is a variety of questions that Chun Young-hwan has been constantly agonizing over, and is a "communication" that contains a researcher's desire to meet the most humane self beyond the realm of technology and art.

I hope the research exhibition will be a time for everyone to discover their own "moon jars."

research work
Kim Si-young <Black Moon Pot>
Kim Si-young (1958-), a potter, is working on a surplus that focuses on changes that arise from the combination of natural forces, "fire" and " minerals in the soil." "Yobyeon black porcelain" refers to a porcelain in which numerous minerals have mysterious and beautiful patterns, depending on the style of fire, in patterns depending on the style of fire. The author uses natural glaze for all his work, but among them, the color made from Gapyeong's pine-tree Buyeopto glaze is called the "black porcelain." The black porcelain moon jar work, which began in 2010, began with the motif of a moon made of white but actually dark matter. In the harmony between the moon jar shape and the beautiful black color made by enduring high temperatures for a long time, one can feel the writer's noble attitude of creating harmony with nature by accepting unknown areas that humans cannot access.
