Monday evening at 6:40 p.m., the road was blocked as usual. I was greedy to get to Jung Ki-hoon's studio in Geumcheon-gu on time across Seoul's rush hour. Despite being born and raised in the city, moving by car during rush hour in the city is always beyond expectations. Unfortunately or fortunately, as an art worker, I had avoided this traffic jam. Of course, there was a time when I went to work at the same time as others and worked on an hourly basis. At that time I was converted into time regardless of the intensity of my work. 

Jeong Gihoon's studio was with other writers. It was different from the air on the road when I managed to get out of the gridlock. It was as if another time had passed. The feeling was not wrong when I entered his space. Jung Ki-hoon was making his own rules of time and was living a repetitive and regular life accordingly. For a writer, his explanation was convincing. Chung often used the term "self-reliance" in the sense of "making his own rules." However, the more so, the more we could not erase the dictionary meaning of "self-hostile" that "disregarded certain order and acted arbitrarily." In a strict sense, self-made rules are not valid. Because 'rules' are made by many people in society to keep them in common. In this sense, the "rules" created only for themselves without many premise become useless rules that paradoxically do not need to be followed. In other words, it becomes a rule that loses its role. Why does Jung Ki-hoon make such meaningless rules, carry them out and work over time?

Suddenly, I think of the road that was filled with people going home during rush hour. People who all go to work and leave work together, people who are busier than anyone else to run to the subway station, and people who break their time to support their families. Are the rules of life used in them right for me, and are they really different from the rules that himself made or not different?
