			Ahn Kwang-hwi's individual exhibition "Show Down" will be held at the Diswickend Room from December 10 to December 20, 2020.
The tension that arises between Ahn Kwang-hui's identity as an artist and his family's responsibility as the head of the family.
Although it is revealed as lethargic or pathetic, the reality described through work is a problem and, in conclusion, it is specified as an object to overcome or actively respond to.
Ahn Kwang-hwi resonates with audiences from various backgrounds who visit special places called exhibition spaces through music that can be experienced in exhibition halls, not in music services, and binds them to a consensus and further acquires specific political character. But at the same time, I hope that the work will work as a starting point for productive debate, stimulating the contradictions and cracks that they share.

■ Artist's Note
I have experienced the breakdown of the boundaries between producers and inmates in a changed image environment in the post-Internet era. It is very important for me to find a unique area that only artists in charge of producing existing images can do in an environment where anyone can become a producer or distributor of images.
For a long time, artists have challenged the conventional perception of objects through their works. I think and note that these attempts, which have been carried out from the past, are still valid rather than pursuing new values for artists and works. Because as the frequency of indirect experience through the media increases, we leave the power of judgment and choice to it.
It's more than enough, but it's still a passive freedom within the conditions given outside.

I would like to visualize the boundaries of things that are defined from the outside and exist in our daily lives through work. With this, we will look at the target again and move forward to establishing an alternative world. Therefore, the important goal of my work is to persuade the audience and participate in this semantic process. I would like to do this in two ways: indirectly speaking through a work through an image and direct speaking directly through lyrics and rap. In the former case, it is intended to simplify the elements that make up a piece into a clearly contrasting dual structure so that the audience can grasp it as intuitively as possible. In most cases, the two axes consist of a conventional perception of an object and a device that evokes it. I hope that the audience will have a significant effect through unexpected results from dealing with objects according to everyday customs.
The main material of my work can be divided into art and everyday objects. I am also interested in normative conditions in art and use it as a material for work. It also responds to discussions on the media itself, such as planes, prints, and images, or reverses the general meaning of individual works or images through parody. In the case of three-dimensional or direct speech, I intended to enjoy my narrative on a collective level, not on a personal level, by creating an experience of synchronizing the body through direct lyrics and rhythms. In the case of music work, it talks about very specific examples of the art world and the working environment, so it's only possible for an individual audience to enjoy it in a group called the art world.
