Exhibition Information

			Not Only But Also 67890 is a project to collect Korean design activities from 2016 to 2020.

Not Only But Also 67890 decided to place Korean graphic design work on the wall with minimal processing over the past five years in Gallery 17717, an exhibition space, and stream the process in real time. Rather than introducing individual tasks in detail, the purpose is to observe the flow of work selected by planners. It is hoped that this will create a basic basis for judgment in understanding this period in the future.

Participants in Not Only But Also 67890 believe that the common time experienced (2016-2020) can be interpreted differently depending on the generation and age to which they belong. (Participants are designer Park Jung-mo (born 1996), Jeong Mi-jung (born 1992), Jeong Sa-rok (born 1989), Kim Ki-chang (born 1985), An Mano (born 1982), and Kim Hyung-jae (born 1979), who are slightly different ages and time zones, but are rapidly expanding in Korea. It is also characterized by the fact that the shape of expansion is exploding and the detailed cycle of change is getting shorter and shorter, making it easier for individual records and experiences to be identified to be volatile in order to view the whole thing.

Pandemic situations are only one of many conditions for us and do not work as an absolute premise. However, our decision to broadcast online the process of installing the exhibition from December 29 to 31, 2020, and the fact that the exhibition actually began on January 1, 2021, is deeply related to the global pandemics situation. We sincerely hope that January 1, 2021, has any faint vestiges of hope.

The selection of the work was carried out after discussion by the planning team. As stated in the planning article, the planning team respected the choice of relying on their intuitive experiences and memories rather than unified and conscious selection in the selection process, as they form a basic consensus on the five-year change, but also acknowledged clear differences among members. However, works that are generally considered to be using visual and formal techniques that are relatively different from the pre-2016 trend, or that are media specific for that time, or that are considered significantly different in the attitude of the subject to produce, distribute, and consume the design.
