Exhibition Information
The Children's Gallery of the Busan Museum of Art has prepared a special exhibition to awaken artistic sensibility and open imagination to children through contemporary art under the theme of light and sound. In 2020, it hosted the light-themed "Neverland Lightland: The Land of Light and Imagination" and "Neverland Soundland: Kwon Byungjoon - Sorisan Book" by Kwon Byungjoon, who is opening a new horizon for Korean sound art with his first exhibition in 2021. Various sounds produced by Kwon Byungjoon are delivered through visual devices and instruments devised by the artist, and the audience listens, sees, moves, feels vibrations, and appreciates the work. The exhibition will feature a three-dimensional sound view for children experiencing special sound experiences, a landscape based on the scale of one of the Korean traditional instruments, a speaker installation work, and a hands-on work of song. In addition, in the outdoor space, "Strangerous Forest of Truth 4 - Lullaby of Multicultural Families" will be displayed while walking outside the museum building wearing headphones. Through these works, I hope to provide an opportunity for children to understand the diversity of contemporary art that encourages them to experience sound art at the forefront of modern art and to use various senses such as hearing and touch. It is also expected that it will be a time to enhance children's imagination by listening to the sounds present in the work, promote creative thinking through play and performance, and enjoy art pleasantly.
