Exhibition Information
The exhibition "Common Land" is designed to provide a new experience of nature-based on a critical view of human-centered nature. Humans have always returned the object of nature to economic utility value. The different huge discourse, such as natural development, climate change, and environmental protection, probably all had to be derived from the process of human prosperity. In this situation, it is no exaggeration to say that we have lived with only a limited view of nature. This exhibition expresses various aspects of nature that are treated in ways that are unfamiliar to humans, not nature that seems to be conventional. And I hope that we can share more multi-dimensional experiences and new inspirations about nature. The two artists participating in this exhibition approach the above topics in different ways. Writer Kim Yoojung has shown a variety of space production based on the reason that it was projected into transplanted and socialized nature. In this exhibition, the residential space of kitchens and bathrooms, which is an important factor in human and plant survival, is expressed as an experiment of installation and expanded media covered with Tilandian plants. And through these grotesque landscapes, they create the erosion of plant forces. Koo Kijung embodies the shapes of nature through installation work using high-resolution cameras, macro lenses, 3D technology, and pigment prints, and expresses the artist's personal experiences and natural features that are hard to access from the human perspective.
