  • <Collection_ Open Hacking Mining> is designed to create different meanings throughout the existing collection interpretation, appreciation, and management system by experimentally modeling the approach of the collection by the various subjects that make up the art museum. This is because it is time for the Seoul Museum of Art to conduct complex and multiple studies of the collection, which is the basis of the museum, along with the need to take a new look at the collection based on the strengthening online system in non-face-to-face situations.
To this end, the exhibition consists of three projects that are not representative works or topic-oriented. First of all, we attempt to 'gave' a new collective identity and future direction through mining–research critique projects. It also conducts a hacking-learning project that allows audiences and Artists to "hack" their collections to think about the problems of appreciation and value in exploring the path of meeting them during the Covid-19 era. Finally, through the Open-House Art Management System Project, we want to "open" the museum's collection management system, which can only be accessed by officials, to draw the standards and systems, while showing the nature and scalability of art created by its gaps.
The Seoul Museum of Art hopes to create an ever-renewing collection of collections and share the basics of follow-up research. It is hoped that this exhibition will serve as an experiment for the Seoul Museum of Art to make a difference from other institutions and an opportunity to imagine what terrain and context the SEMA collection will be located, role, and grow at home and abroad.
