			This exhibition offers a view of Daegu's modern art. The great stem and flow of art, and the meaning of local art history among them, is that DNA engraved on the members of the community following the generations and generations of those who lived in the same space and era. Art shows a spirit inherited and imprinted, records the appearance of an evolving culture, and testifies to the times.
Daegu Modern Art Exhibition "Time and Land," organized by the Daegu Museum of Art to mark the 10th anniversary of its opening, aims to contain the history of jealousy, the history of Daegu artists, overcoming the past, and the ideals and zeitgeist of the art they dreamed of. Korea's modern era, with Japanese colonial era, liberation, and the great historical events of the Korean War, is remembered as an era of anger and blue rather than a romantic word of enlightenment and advancement. Nevertheless, art mocked and lamented the sad times, overcoming the pain and sublimating to ideal. This journey of the times is flowing into the face of modern art in Daegu.
This exhibition depicts the period of modern art from the 1920s when Western-style paintings began to the 1950s when new art began to overcome the scars of war. The composition of the exhibition was made into five sections according to the characteristics of Daegu artists and the art world, which are changing with the trend of the times. In particular, he painted a big picture of Daegu's modern art through Lee Sangjung, the first person to spread Western art to Daegu, newly discovered in this exhibition. And we want to show the potential driving force behind Daegu art's progress to modern times through art in the 1950s.
